Al Jazira 1st football team raised the score to 39 points getting closer to the silverware of the Etisalat Pro-League after defeating rival Al Ahli 5-1 at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in the 15th week of the pro-league. Al Jazira did not score any goal in the first half of the match but were able to score 5 goals in the second goal alone. Delgado scored the first goal in the 53rd minute. Diaky added the second goal in the 63rd minute through a penalty kick and Oliveira scored the third goals in the 71st minute. Abdullah Musa scored the fourth goal in the 75th minute with a header. Ahmed Khalil scored the only goal for Al Ahli in the match in the 86th minute through a penalty kick. Oliveira concluded the goal carnival with his second goal in the 89th minute. Al Jazira starting line-up included Ali Khaseif as the goalkeeper; Jumaa Abdullah, Sami Rubaya, Khalid Sabeel and Abdullah Musa in defence; Hilal Saeed, Subeit Khater, Diaky and Delgado in midfield; and Bare and Oliveira in forward. The first half of the match witnessed a lot of wasted chances for Al Jazira players who were so close to scoring but finishing the attacks did not take place properly and so the first half of the match ended for Al Jazira 0 Al Ahli 0. As the second half started Al Ahli coach David O'Leary made a substitution in which he replaced Khalid Mohammed for Mohammed Abdullah. Bare wasted a golden chance to score after receiving a cross from Oliveira and so the later did but he was able to score later in the 53rd minute from a direct free kick. Ten minutes later, the referee announced a penalty kick for the advantage of Al Jazira when Tarek Ahmed tackled Abdullah Musa deliberately in the penalty area of Al Ahli. Diaky executed the penalty kick and relieved Al Jazira fans with the second goal in the 63rd minute. A third goal came from Oliveira who received a cross Diaky and then to be one on one with Al Ahli goal keeper so that Oliveira lift the ball over the goalkeeper and then with a header he announced the third goal for Al Jazira in the 71st minute. Another goal came with a header but this time from Abdullah Musa in the 75th minute. Braga then made a substitution replacing Diaky for Sultan Barghash. Braga made a second substitution in the 78th minute replacing Delgado for Abdul Salam Jumaa and then a third substitution in the 82nd minute replacing Sami Rubaya for Saleh Obeid. A couple of minutes later the referee granted Al Ahli a penalty kick. Ahmed Khalil executed the penalty kick announcing the first and only goal for his team in the match in the 86th minute. O'Leary made a substitution replacing Esmail Hamadi who carried an injury for Ahmed Khameis. Oliveira scored the fifth goal for Al Jazira and his personal second goal in the match in the 89th minute when he shoot the ball with his left leg putting the goal on the right side of the goalkeeper. The referee then announced the end of the match between Al Jazira and Al Ahli for the earlier 5-1 win. 16247 spectators attended the match who came to cheer Al Jazira in their march towards the league title. Mohammed Ibrahim Khidr, Esmail Dahr Al Ahmed and Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah shared the Barclay's Kick for Cash prize which is AED 50,000 and qualified for the Grand Prize which is a Ferrari Italia 458 worth a million dirham. The contesters will compete for the Ferrari in the last home for Al Jazira against Dubai on 09 June 2011. |
