Hickersberger: Al Wahda is the only team to stop Al Jazira


Al Wahda coach Hickersberger stressed the importance of the forthcoming match between his team Al Jazira in the President's Cup Final, noting that the match will be one of the strongest and biggest matches for Al Wahda in the past five years.

Alo Ali: Concentration is the key to success


Al Wahda defender Haidar Alo Ali stressed the importance of the forthcoming match between Al Wahda and Al Jazira in the President's Cup Final at Zayed Sports City on Monday 11 April at 5:55pm.

New site to decorate Al Jazira fans' cars


Preparing for the President's Cup Final on Monday 11 April, Al Jazira Club opened a new site for decorating the cars of Al Jazira fans. This initiative comes from the awareness of the club in providing all the needs and requirements of "All of us… Khalifa" festival.
Ammar Bashir, Sales and Marketing Manager at Al Jazira Club, stressed the importance of including different cheering methods in the festival of the President's Cup Final.
He noted that the new decorating site is working night and day to decorate all the cars of Al Jazira fans who will drive along Al Jazira team on their way to the Final.
"Al Jazira stressed on providing the fans with Al Jazira merchandise inside and outside the stadium in order to cope with "All of us… Khalifa" Festival and the Cup which all the teams dream of," he said.
The new site is located near Gate No. 19 at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, so whoever wants to cope with the festival of the President's Cup Final should go to the gate where he will see his car turn into a piece of work that goes in line with the importance of the event.

Al Jazira players display prizes for the Cup Final


Under the title “Everyone wins with Al Jazira”, Ahead of the preparations of the prestigious Presidents Cup final Al Jazira 1st Team players displayed just some of the fantastic prizes that will be rewarded after the Al Jazira v Al Wahda match which will be played on Monday 11 April 2011 at 5:55pm Zayed Sports City Stadium should Al Jazira win.

President's Cup celebration launches tomorrow


Under the title " All Of Us ... Khalifa", a big celebration on Abu Dhabi Sports Channel that starts today and lasts until the Final of the President's Cup on 11 April which will feature Al Jazira v Al Wahda at Zayed Sports City Stadium. This celebration shows the place which H.H the President takes in the hearts of everyone in general and athletes in particular.
Naser Al Yamahi, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Final said in a press conference held yesterday at Zayed Sports City that the entry will be free for all fans and buses will launch from all the emirates to participate in "All Of Us.. Khalifa" carnival and watch the Final. He noted that the gates of the stadium will open at 3:30pm.
"With the coordination of sponsors, we prepared many activities which will take place in the Final," he said, raising hopes that the Final would be on a level of organization that is up to the name of the President.
"The Final will witness 11 captains who had the honor to raise the President's Cup since its first launch in 1975 until 2010. The captains will pass by in an open vehicle to cheer the fans inside the stadium. There will also be raffle draw for a number of prizes."
Al Yamahi made clear that nothing has been modified about the Cup and the money prizes for the champion and the runner-up are as is mentioned in the regulations which did not see any change.
It is worth noting that Al Hilal Bank has prepared a number of prizes such as travel tickets and 11 bank accounts for 11 fans. On the other side, Etisalat Telecommunications, with the coordination of Abu Dhabi Sports Channel, the third sponsor, will send two million SMS to the people in a way to promote for the Final.
Meanwhile, stand 15 in the stadium was been labeled families only. The gates for the fans of the two teams will be revealed after the technical meeting which will take place at Zayed Sports City which is witnessing daily activities and meetings until the match day.
The pre-match conference of the two coaches will be held on Saturday. The meeting of the organizing committee will be held on Sunday to ensure that everything is ready for the Final.

Technical meeting discusses preparations of the Final


The UAE Football Association held the technical meeting of the Final of the President's Cup between Al Jazira and Al Wahda which is due on Monday 11 April at Zayed Sports City Stadium.
Ayed Mabkhout, 1st Team Manager;faisal al naqbi 1st media7pr manager< Steven Hall, Commercial Director; Ammar Bashir, Marketing Manager; and Ishak Al Karam, PR Officer, attended the meeting from Al Jazira side.
Many issues related to the organization of the match day were discussed during the meeting. Training times for both teams were set so that Al Jazira will train on Sunday 10 April from 5:30pm until 6:30pm, and Al Wahda will train on the same day but from 7:00pm until 8:00pm.
Al Jazira bench will be on the right side of the grandstand and Al Wahda will sit on the left side. Gates specified for Al Jazira fans will be Gats No. 29 – 30 – 31 – 32 – 46 – 47 – 50 – 51. Gate no. 15 labeled family only.
Al Jazira will use changing room no. 2, whereas Al Wahda will use changing room no. 3. Al Jazira will wear white T-shirt, red shorts and red socks; and the goalkeeper will wear black.
The meeting also discussed the times at which the match commissioner and the referees will arrive to the stadium. Besides, Saturday and Sunday is given to the fans to come and decorate the stadium.
The technical committee stressed on need for the two teams to stand in line to receive medals and the cup, that the runner-up will receive the medals and then the winner will be awarded the silverware.

Braga: We were stubborn against the strongest team in Asia


Al Jazira first football team coach Abel Braga said that he is satisfied with the quality of players who played rival Al Hilal in the AFC Champions League which ended for Al Hilal 3-1 win. He stressed that the two goals which Al Jazira received at the beginning of the match made the players lose focus.
In the post-match conference, Braga said that Al Hilal deserved victory and at the same time the score of the match was not embarrassing especially that Al Jazira is playing against one of the strongest teams in whole Asia.
Braga praised Al Hilal for their victory, noting that Al Hilal hospitality was at its best.
"We had to choose a number of young players because the main players were exhausted from their matches in the league, besides, we have a very important game which is the Final of H.H the President's Cup on Monday," he said.
"I thank all the players who showed some quality performance in the Asian league. All the teams in our group are strong and that what we expected that all our matches in the ACL will be difficult."
"Al Jazira won neither the pro-league nor the President's Cup in its history, therefore, we decided to let the players have a break in order to be ready for the forthcoming match against Al Wahda on Monday 11 April at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi," he added.
"I placed a bet that the young players will play very good in the match and I won the bet against one of the strongest teams in Asia. Now we look at our next match in the Final of the President's Cup," he concluded.
 

Al Jazira opens the file of the Final of the President's Cup


Al Jazira opened the file of the Final of the President's Cup which is due on Monday 11 April at 5:55pm at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Braga gave orders to let the players who were in Riyadh playing Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia to have a break for one day.
Braga resumed the training sessions with the players who did not leave to Riyadh preparing for the forth coming match which will witness Al Jazira v Al Wahda.
Al Jazira have released complementary entry tickets to the Final under the title: "Everyone wins with Al Jazira". In case Al Jazira won the Final then every Al Jazira fan will win a cash prize. The total amount of the prizes is AED 150,000. The fans will also have the chance to win other prizes like TVs, laptops and Nokia and Blackberry phones in addition to many Al Jazira cheering tools.
Al Jazira will make buses available to take the fans from Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium to Zayed Sports City at 4:00pm.

Al Jazira loses against rival Al Hilal 3-1


Al Jazira first football team witnessed a defeat by rival Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia 3-1 at King Fahed Stadium in the third week of the AFC Champions League 2011. By this defeat, Al Jazira score froze at one point, whereas Al Hilal raised the score to 6 points.
Al Hilal scored early in the match specifically in the 3rd minute through Ahmed Ali. Al Hilal player Yaser Al Qahtani scored the second goal in the 14th minute. Al Jazira player Ahmed Jumaa shortened the gap with his goal in the 20th minute. Al Shalhoub scored the third goal in the added time of the second half of the match.
Al Jazira starting line-up included Ali Khaseif as the goalkeeper; Sami Rubaya, Saleh Basheer, Saleh Obeid and Mohamed Marzouk in defense; Yaser Matar, Abdul Salam Jumaa, Sultan Barghash and Khameis Esmail in midfield and Ahmed Jumaa and Abdullah Qasem in forward.
Al Hilal announced its first goal early in the match when Ahmed Al Ali broke the offside trap and placed the ball on the left side of Ali Khaseif.
Al Qahtani added a second goal for Al Hilal in the 14th minute when he received a cross from Welhlemenson and then for the earlier to score with a header.
Abdullah Qasem took advantage of Al Hilal defense mistake to snap the ball and cross it to Ahmed Jumaa who was there to score in the 20th minute.
The referee announced the end of the first half of the match for Al Jazira 1, Al Hilal 2.
As the second half started, Al Hilal coach Calderon made his first substitution replacing Ahmed Al Faridi for Abdul Aziz Al Dousari.
Braga made a substitution in the 49th minute replacing Sami Rubaya for Mohamed Barghash.
In the 67th minute Braga made another substitution replacing the owner of Al Jazira goal Ahmed Jumaa for Ali Mabkhout. Calderon also made a substitution in the 74th minute replacing the captain of Al Hilal Yaser Al Qahtani for Nawaf Al Aabed.
Braga made his last substitution in the 80th minute replacing Al Jazira Captain Saleh Obeid for Mohamed Salem Balleith.
Al Shalhoub from Al Hilal scored the third goal for his team in the added time of the second half of the match.
The referee then announced the end of the match between Al Jazira and Al Hilal in the AFC Champions League for the later 3-1 win.

Obeid: The Cup and the Pro-League do not keep us away from the ACL


Al Jazira Captain and defender Saleh Obeid, stressed the importance of the forthcoming match agains Al Hilal in the third week of the AFC Champions League 2011 at King Fahed Stadium.
Obeid noted that Al Hilal will try to win the three points of the match, and Al Jazira on the other hand will try to keep its hopes in qualifying for the second round of the league.
"We have the president's Cup and the Pro-League. however, Our concentration on them does not stop us from concentrating on our Asian matches and playing in a way that is up to the fame of the UAE football," he said.
"Foolad Sepahan is the closer to qualify for the second round of the league. Al Jazira, Al Hilal and Al Gharafa have the same chances of qualifications."
Obeid noted that Al Hilal have talented and very good players and that Al Jazira young players who will play against Al Hilal have to prove themselves worthy and stop the approach of the rival.

Calderon: If we want to qualify we have to win


Al Hilal team coach Calderon, stressed the importance of the forth coming match against Al Jazira in the AFC Champions' League 2011 at King Fahed Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, noting that Al Hilal goal in this match is winning the three points despite the plans and strategy of Al Jazira.
"The match is very important. Al Hilal lost the home match and won the away match. So they have to win the match Againts Al Jazira if they want to keep their hops in qualifying for the second round of the Asian league," he said.
Calderon said that Al Jazira will be new for him because they are playing with a group of young players, "Therefore, I have to be cautious," he said.
"We suffered from some absent players in the last two matches, but we played well in the last match. I am personally impressed with the willingness of Al Hilal players. I am confident that they will play very good in their match against Al Jazira."
Calderon called upon all the Saudi media to analyze the match objectively and consider that Al Hilal used to suffer from some injuries and so they had to be absent.
 

Al Ghannam: We are focusing on the ACL


Al Hilal midfielder Abdul Latif Ghannam stressed the importance of the forth coming match against Al Jazira in the AFC Champions' League 2011 at King Fahed Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He said that the players are focusing now on the AFC Champions League and the match against Al Jazira. "We are nine points ahead of our closest rival in the Saudi league, therefore, we are in a good situation and so we should focus on our match against Al Jazira and qualify for the second round of the league," he said.
"Al Jazira is topping the pro-league in the UAE and so are we here in Saudi Arabia. I believe the match will be very strong. We have high spirits and we are determined to win the three points," he concluded.
 

Al Jazira last training session before playing Al Hilal


Al Jazira first football team had their last training session before playing rival Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia in the AFC Champions League at King Fahed Stadium.
Mr Hamad Al Hur Al Suweidi, Al Jazira Board Member and Head of the Professionalism Committee, attended the concluding training session of Al Jazira which is led by Coach Abel Braga. Braga divided the players into two teams. The training session lasted for 30 minutes.
Al Jazira have only one point in the ACL after drawing with Al Gharafa from Qatar and a defeat by Foolad Sepahan from Iran. Al Hilal have three points after losing against Foolad Sepahan and defeating Al Gharafa.

UAE Council visits Al Jazira delegation


H.E Hamad Al Juneibi, the General Council to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, paid a visit to Al Jazira delegation at Radisson Blue Hotel in Riaydh, Saudi Arabia.
Mr Hamad Al Hur Al Suweidi, Al Jazira Board Member and Head of the Professionalism Committee, received the council along with Mr Mohamed Salem Al Enzi, the General Supervisor of Al Jazira first and reserve football teams, and Ayed Mabkhout, the Al Jazira First Team Manager.
The general council checked the delegation, hoping for them all the luck in their match against Al Hilal in the third week of the AFC Champions League 2011.

Al Jazira delegation in Riyadh today


Headed by Mr hamad Al Hur Al Suweidi, Al Jazira Club Board member and Head of the Professionalism Committee arrived to Riyadh, Capital of Saudi Arabia on a private jet coming from Abu Dhabi.
H.E Saud Al Shihi, Deputy Military Attaché in the UAE Embassy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received the Al Jazira delegation accompanied with H.E Fahed Al Hamidi, the Assistant General Secretary at Al Hilal Club.
The delegation then headed to Radisson Blue Hotel where the pre-match conferencewill be held at 12:30pm.
The players will have a training session at King Fahed Stadium at 5:00pm.
It is worth noting that an Australian referee team will run the match and includes: William Benjamin as the referee, Anaz as the first Assistant Referee, Rodney Kenneth as the second assistant referee and Christopher as the fourth official. Rashid Mahboub from Qatar will be the match commissioner.
Al Jazira have only one point in the AFC Champions league so far after drawing with Al Gharafa from Qatar and a defeat by Foolad Sepahan from Iran.

Braga: I will play as always against Al Hilal


Al Jazira first football team coach Abel Braga stressed the importance of the forthcoming match between Al Jazira and Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia at King Fahed Stadium in the third week of the AFC Champions League 2011.
In the pre-match conference, Braga said Al Hilal team is one of the best teams in the region and the match against them will be difficult, noting that he knows the way Caledron, Al Hilal coach, plays. He stressed that Caledron is one of the best coaches in Asia.
"I will keep my way of playing. I will play in a forward strategy. I will let young players in the match because I am confident that they will try their best and that they will make up to their loss against Foolad Sepahan," he said.
"All the teams in the first group are nominated to qualify for the second round of the league. I brought with me a group of young players who can cope with Al Hilal team. Most of these young players represented the Olympic National Team of the UAE. I am all confident in their play."
Braga made clear that Al Jazira does not have main and substitute players and that all the players with no exception might sit in the bench.
"I intended to bring with me young players because Al Jazira have an important match against Al Wahda in the Final of the President's Cup on Monday 11 April. Besides, they have a match on the 15th of April in the pro-league against Baniyas. So I thought that letting them rest and prepare them for those two matches, especially the Final of the President's Cup is the best thing to do and as everybody knows, Al Jazira have never won neither the President's Cup nor the pro-league.
Braga concluded the pre-match conference by thanking Al Hilal team for their hospitality since they set a foot at the airport.

Al Jazira reserves defeat rival Al Ahli 2-1


Al Jazira reserve football team raised their score to 31 points in the Challenge League after defeating rival Al Ahli 2-1 at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in the 15th week of the league.
Ali Mabkhout scored the first goal for Al Jazira in the 18th minute and Abdullah Qasem added the second goal in the 80th minute.
Al Ahli player Abdullah Issa scored the only goal for his team in the 5th minute of the match.
Al Jazira players: Khalid Al Snani, Mohammed Marzouk, Ali Al Amiri, Saleh Obeid, Saleh Basheer, Abdul Salam Jumaa, Khameis Esmail, Sultan Barghash, Abdullah Qasem, Ali Mabkhout and Abdullah Abdul Qader.

Three Al Jazira fans celebrate their birthdays at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium


Al Jazira presented a birthday cake to three of its fans who attended Al Jazira v Al Ahli match in the 15th week of Etisalat Pro-League in which Al Jazira won 5-1. The three fans had their birthday at the same day of the match which is 31 March. The three fans are Khalid Esmail who turned 9, David Dodson who became 11 and Rick Reynolds who hit his 54 birthday.
Al Jazira fans celebrated their birthdays as well as the players who appeared on the giant screen wishing the fans with a happy birthday.
