Al Jazira first football team witnessed a defeat by rival Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia 3-1 at King Fahed Stadium in the third week of the AFC Champions League 2011. By this defeat, Al Jazira score froze at one point, whereas Al Hilal raised the score to 6 points. Al Hilal scored early in the match specifically in the 3rd minute through Ahmed Ali. Al Hilal player Yaser Al Qahtani scored the second goal in the 14th minute. Al Jazira player Ahmed Jumaa shortened the gap with his goal in the 20th minute. Al Shalhoub scored the third goal in the added time of the second half of the match. Al Jazira starting line-up included Ali Khaseif as the goalkeeper; Sami Rubaya, Saleh Basheer, Saleh Obeid and Mohamed Marzouk in defense; Yaser Matar, Abdul Salam Jumaa, Sultan Barghash and Khameis Esmail in midfield and Ahmed Jumaa and Abdullah Qasem in forward. Al Hilal announced its first goal early in the match when Ahmed Al Ali broke the offside trap and placed the ball on the left side of Ali Khaseif. Al Qahtani added a second goal for Al Hilal in the 14th minute when he received a cross from Welhlemenson and then for the earlier to score with a header. Abdullah Qasem took advantage of Al Hilal defense mistake to snap the ball and cross it to Ahmed Jumaa who was there to score in the 20th minute. The referee announced the end of the first half of the match for Al Jazira 1, Al Hilal 2. As the second half started, Al Hilal coach Calderon made his first substitution replacing Ahmed Al Faridi for Abdul Aziz Al Dousari. Braga made a substitution in the 49th minute replacing Sami Rubaya for Mohamed Barghash. In the 67th minute Braga made another substitution replacing the owner of Al Jazira goal Ahmed Jumaa for Ali Mabkhout. Calderon also made a substitution in the 74th minute replacing the captain of Al Hilal Yaser Al Qahtani for Nawaf Al Aabed. Braga made his last substitution in the 80th minute replacing Al Jazira Captain Saleh Obeid for Mohamed Salem Balleith. Al Shalhoub from Al Hilal scored the third goal for his team in the added time of the second half of the match. The referee then announced the end of the match between Al Jazira and Al Hilal in the AFC Champions League for the later 3-1 win. |
